Welcome to the You & the Mat | Oakland, the premier yoga studio in the East Bay of San Francisco!

Check out our weekly schedule of yoga and meditation classes below. Click on the name of each individual yoga or mediation class for a more detailed description of the offering.  We offer a wide range of styles and traditions including:  Annie Carpenter’s SmartFLOW® Yoga, Yoga Tune Up®, Hatha Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Special Needs Yoga for People with Disabilities, Yoga for Parkinson’s Disease, Meditation and Mindfulness.

We try to be as inclusive as possible and most of our classes are accessible to all levels. Additionally, we also offer beginner yoga, intermediate yoga and advanced yoga classes for practitioners that are looking for a more tailored experience.  Our teaching faculty includes some of the most senior and sought after teachers in the world including Richard Rosen, Annie Carpenter, Leslie Howard, Yoko Yoshikawa, Vickie Russell Bell, JoAnn Lyons and many others.  Hand picked for their extensive experience, ability to make connections, and communicate effectively with their students, all of our world class faculty are equipped to break down a pose, offer modifications if needed, or suggest variations for students looking to deepen their practice. We encourage you to try as many classes as possible to connect with the specific teachers and teachings that resonate with you.
